TDC#198 Star Wars Land in DLP?

May the Fourth be with you!

This weeks show is a discussion of a recent blog post theorizing the addition of a Star Wars Land at Disneyland Paris. We think this could be swell, real swell, as long as they refurb DLP Pizza Planet as part of the deal. All Ears does a great job with pics of DLP’s Discoveryland here. And be on the look out for the History Channel’s “Star Wars – The Legacy Revealed” documentary that Lisa has noticed in repeats lately. It was released in 2007 for the 25th anniversary of Episode 4 and is great!

TDC# 111 Parisian Pirates En Parade!

Another journey this week into some park audio – this time, Disneyland Paris and POTC! We’ll hear park BRM for POTC (heh- love those abbreviations!!), then a musical ride through of the Parisian POTC followed by the actual ride through, en francais. My step-dad’s (god rest his soul) FAVORITE Randy Newman song brings it all home. Enjoy!!

say "ARGGGG!!!"

TDC #74: A Day at Disneyland Paris

The Watchamacallit is an Eclaireur Spatial! But it looks like Space Eclair to our American eyes.

Can you imagine spending a day with Jennifer and the Watchamacallit at Disneyland Paris? Well, you’ll surely be able to after you listen to this week’s show!

We can’t help lapsing into internet memes from time to time, so here’s a couple tidbits to clue you in on what we’re talking about:

And for the record: The Watchamacallit’s toe was just fine. Honest.

TDC #70: How to Not Suck at Disneyland Paris

Waiting for Fantillusion, after perhaps a bit too much magic

Waiting for Fantillusion, after perhaps a bit too much magic

In a nod to the Geek Nights podcast, which Jennifer and the Watchamacallit are inordinately fond of, this week’s show offers helpful guidance on how not to suck at Disneyland Paris.

Videopolis at Disneyland Paris Discoveryland

Jennifer’s Broke Hoedown blog has a Disneyland Paris trip report, as well as detailed photos and write ups on Alice’s Curious Labyrinth and Phantom Manor.

The Disney Brit Podcast has ongoing coverage of Disneyland Paris, for those of you who here a little bit on today’s show and get hooked. If you’re heading to Paris, you also might want to check out info on Walt’s American Restaurant on DLP Food Guide, and details on the Annual Passports at DLRP Magic (we recommend the Francilien, which costs less than a two-day park hopper). Or, on another topic entirely, if you didn’t understand the Watchamacallit’s reference to the comfy chair, you owe it to yourself to watch an essential Monty Python scene.

Plus, if you need additional advice on how not to suck at other things, Geek Nights has you covered for a number of subjects:

And yes! You can now email the Watchamacallit directly at watchamacallit@thosedarncats.net. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Finally, I gotta tell you: Those overpriced ponchos from Disneyland Paris sure do come in handy if you’re planning to visit Le Musée des Égouts de Paris. Yeah.

TDC#69 Talking to Rich

Wrapping up a few shows recorded while Cat #1 was traveling Paris is show #69:

  • Rich O. aka WDWOwner from twitter joins Cat#2 in the Meow Mix and shares his family’s story about Disney, Dialysis and Donations – here’s Rich and the fam in the 3 o’clock parade. I would also like to say now that I apologize to Mr. O for the somewhat cheesy interview background music! It’s music from the Canada pavillion and just end up being somewhat “soft and warm the quiet storm” easy listening jazz….. sigh… 🙂

The music featured this week includes:

  • Tokyo Disneyland Main Entrance Christmas Area background music loop, as background for the Cats discussion
  • Holiday Graveyard Party, from Disneyland Anaheim
  • Stardust Christmas 1995, from Tokyo Disneyland
  • Happy Holiday Christmas 1996, from Tokyo Disneyland
  • A Magical Christmas (aka Baroque Hoedown Christmas Mix), from Disneyland Paris

And yeah, Jennifer couldn’t resist throwing a weird bonus track at the very end….can anybody out there name that tune?
